In the year 1991, Sri Tara Ma established Bhagirathi Dham amidst the sylvan surroundings of the Rajaji National Park in the village of Haripurkalan, Hardwar. Bhagirathi Dham bears striking proximity to the River Ganga and a dip in the soothing waters of the divine river is never too far-fetched whilst in the Ashram. The Ashram and its fringes are densely vegetated and are a veritable haven to different animals and birds. Further, many different plants, trees and vegetables are grown within Bhagirathi Dham and the produce from these are utilised in the preparation of daily Prasad
(Food offering to the Lord).
No sooner did Bhagirathi Dham surpass its initial years than Sri Tara Ma instituted Bhagirathi Vidyalaya, a CBSE affiliated English Medium School
(now upto the Senior Secondary Level). The school caters to the rural populace and has a current strength of nearly a thousand boys and girls.
Sri Tara Ma also started the Sri Ma Snehalaya Kanya Ashram in the premises of Bhagirathi Dham to house destitute girl children. The Ashram also houses a hostel for boys studying at Bhagirathi Vidyalaya.
The routine at Bhagirathi Dham is the same as it is in the other Ashrams of Sri Tara Ma. The serene atmosphere and divine vibrations that pervade the entire Ashram evoke intense spiritual feelings and impart great calmness to the mind and soul.
