Embodiment of Divine Love

My wife, Ranjani, and I had our first Darshan (Sanctifying Glimpse) of Sri Ma on the Vijayadashami day of 2001. Thereafter Ranjani frequented the Ashram and I used to go there once in a while. The beginning of 2003 was one of the most trying periods in my life. Ranjani suddenly took ill. She was down with high fever, severe headache and shivers. We admitted her to a private hospital in Thane. Doctors initially suspected Malaria and later diagnosed it as Typhoid. She was administered numerous injections and medicines but there was no improvement. On the contrary her condition was regressing. Things were going from bad to worse. I became restless and strongly felt that I should move my wife to a better hospital and also consult a senior doctor. Suddenly, the thought that I should meet Mataji and take Her advice came to my mind. So, I went straight from office to Prem Ashram at around 10:00 p.m. As I entered the Ashram, I was not very sure of meeting Mataji, given that it was so late in the night. But when I saw that Mataji was waiting for me I was overwhelmed. She had a detailed conversation with me on my wife’s condition.

Mataji knows our minds. She suggested that I should consult Dr. Ramamoorthy, one of the leading Physicians in Mumbai.

Heeding Mataji’s advice I spoke then and there to Dr. Ramamoorthy and he asked me to admit my wife to the Bombay Hospital. Mataji told me not to panic and also assured that Ranjani would recover soon. Her words gave me courage to face the situation. Mataji also said that she would come with me to the Hospital to meet Ranjani. We reached the hospital around 11:30 p.m. As Ranjani saw Mataji, she broke down and prayed that Mataji should always be with her and protect her. Mataji blessed her, placed Her salubrious hands on her head and presented her a Saree. Mataji told Ranjani that she would always be by her side and protect her.

In the morning I admitted Ranjani to the Bombay Hospital. For the next three days there was not much improvement in her condition. In fact, different parts of her body had started to lose sensation. Even the doctors became worried. Ranjani had taken the Saree presented by Mataji with her and had kept it by her side in the hospital. Whenever she had acute pain or depressive thoughts, she used to hold on to the Saree and feel comforted that Mataji is with her.

By Mataji’s Grace Ranjani started showing signs of improvement on the fourth day. Dr. Ramamoorthy heaved a sigh of relief and remarked: “My son, your wife is recovering, despite our treatment”. I fully appreciated what he said. While the doctors treated her, it was Mataji’s Divine Power that had cured her. In a week’s time my wife recovered fully.

Our entire family is grateful to Mataji for Her love and kindness. Ranjani treats the Saree presented to her by Mataji as an invaluable Divine Gift. She holds on to it whenever she is ill or feels dejected and experiences the presence of Mataji.

Mataji is an embodiment of Divine Love and Kindness.
